The practice of Robert D. Russo, M.D. and Associates Radiology, P.C., support the rights of each patient.

 

The overall rights that should be protected during the entire diagnostic and treatment process are:

  • The radiology practice shall provide and make available the same quality health care to all patients without regard to race, creed, sex, national origin or sources of payment
  • Reasonable access to care   
  • Considerate and respectful care that considers the patient’s personal value and belief system
  • Informed patient participation in decisions regarding his or her care   
  • Participation in the consideration of ethical issues that arise in the provision of his or her care   
  • Right to refuse treatment to the extent permitted by law and to be informed of the medical consequences of their decision
  • Personal privacy and confidentiality of information
  • The patient has the right to know the identity of physicians, nurses, students, residents or other trainees involved in his or her care
  • The patient has the right to know the immediate and long-term financial significance of treatment choices insofar as they are known
  • Patients have the right to complain without fear of reprisal
  • Designation of a representative decision maker in the event that the patient is incapable of understanding a proposed treatment or procedure or is unable to communicate his or her wishes regarding care
  • Safe, secure and clean environment
  • The practice demonstrates compliance with the HIPAA Regulations
  • Patients have the responsibility to provide, to the best of their knowledge, accurate and complete information about matters relating to their health, and demographic information
  • Patients have a responsibility to treat our radiology staff with consideration, respect and dignity
  • If you have any concerns about the patient care or safety in the organization, that we have not addressed, we encourage you to contact our management staff. If the concerns cannot be resolved through our organization, you are encouraged to contact the Joint Commission by mail:
